Hi Fuzzy,

I was referred to a 'psychodynamic counsellor' a few years ago, by someone at our local Catholic church. I was in the middle of bereavement at the time.

This guy really did care, but he wasn't right for me. I stayed with him for a while, and I got quite fond of him.

In the end I walked the hard road alone, and I've done pretty well, even if I say so myself.

I think that there is a big problem between therapists and clients, as we tend to be upset by them as they start to work on our deepest problems. The drop out rate is very high and the success rate is quite low. For an analysis of this phenomena, M Scott Peck's book , 'The Road Less Travelled' is helpful.

Of course, there is always PC - We care!!

Good thoughts, M
