Just wondering how psychs work the diagnosis codes for someone with more than one disorder. I know that they are usually listed as either a primary or secondary diagnosis for each disorder. Is it usual for the doc to mark down on the sheet just one diagnosis, or is it more customary to write a code for each diagnosis? I assume that if just one is written, it would be the one considered to be predominant. My doc bills things for me as adjustment disorder, but has also said that I have an eating disorder. My eating patterns fluctuate, but my next question is about what if I stop eating and lose weight again. Then there are two main problems, right? What if there are two problems featured at the same time--does the doc write one or two codes on the sheet?
