Hi sj! I'm happy to hear you feel calmer today.
I got this feeling of being hyper in the past. What help me was to try to be "one more in the crowd" ...like..try not to make jokes or comments that could be impulsive and get me into trouble.
As far as keeping busy...that's good, as long as you don't go overboard and get even more excited.
I tried knitting...this was really soothing...and also listening to music and singing (this keeps my mind busy).
Journaling is great if you can focus. Painting/drawing, even if you just scribble around, helps too.
PS: I like the idea of journaling assignment. I'm gonna talk to my T about starting with that. Free journaling is not getting me anywhere lately. Thanks for the tip!
