From a practical standpoint, most facilities won't admit you if you are not suicidal/psychotic...they don'r have the beds. Of course, if you can just pay for it, that threshold goes down, I think... If you have insurance, or they aren't full, then they'll let you in, BUT IT AIN"T CHEAP!
