My first recognition that I could float and had la la land was when I was little. I was in my bedroom and had locked the door one minute I was crying on the bed looking out the window wishing I could float away with the clouds and the next I was floaty sitting at the window and looking at my body still on the bed then I heard my sister pounding on the door, the next thing I know I was opening the door and trying to tell my sister what happened.(the full explaination of my experience is in my blog. This used to happen to me every time I went into my la la land. Its like the entrence to my la la land because I have to float through the silvery wall of my la la land. Another word I use for this feeling is my tunnel area because everything when I look back at the physical word my body and everything else it looks far away like Im in a tunnel.

I gained control of this feeling by using relaxation books that explained how to relax and little by little by ng into my tunnel/la la land and coming back and breaking down how I did it by writing down what was going on step by step and matching it with the books and doing it again until I had how I went into my tunnel/la la land broken down into ten steps and then practiced coming back at each step. For example -

first I had this-
3 - here and now
2- la la land
1- ?
0 floating out of body (the books all put this level of relaxation at a deeper level than mental safe places so thats where I put it, It doesn't mean that is where it is in all dissociation systems it just means it takes more relaxation to reach that level then imagining safe places.

Then when I still couldnt control my going into la la land and floating out of my body I broke it down more my object was to reach that level 1of relaxation bypassing my la la land and not foating out of my body and at the same time I would still be semi aware - (basically hypnosis level)

10 - here and now
9 light headed
8-start floating backwards
7 start hearing my music from la la land behind me as real world looks fuzzy
6 music louder cant see or hear real world any more
5 la la land
4-music loud and floating past the silver wall
3- music fading out
2-music gone totally quiet but warm and comfortable
1- level one - self hypnotized not floating out of body but at the level where I am totally comfortable and I can find the memories I am blocking out while not in la la land so I am semi aware.
0- out of body

Then I practiced coming back -
feel light headed come back by paying attention to someones voice the furnature things around me.

start floating backwards come back by paying attention to a persons voice, things around me, the furniture I was on..

I repeated the process and after about 6 months I could still ground myself back in reality when reaching as far down as level 2. so I no longer float out of my body. I can also use this to keep myself from entering my la la land at the wrong times like when I am in any classes or meetings.
