But just think, reader71...sensitive goes both ways. Sometimes I'm jealous of "normal" people when I'm heading for rock bottom, but other times I feel sorry for them because they can't experience the heights of joy that I feel.

One of my dogs explained it to me (sort of). He's a great dog, but he doesn't do anything unless he really wants to. When he does, I can see how he commits 100% to enjoying himself, even if there are consequences. He accepts the consequences as part of the deal, then moves on to his next total immersion in joy.

I guess my point is that we have the side of bipolar that is incredibly awesome (the joy in the experience), but also have the side that totally sucks, which I see as the consequences. I guess that's about as clear as mud! The simple suggestion is hang on and it will get better!
