We have this posted up in the PTSD forum, very good article on Grounding Skills. Applies to most any mental health challenge when we are not feeling safe and secure in the here and now.

Sometimes it helps me to think: How would I soothe a crying upset child? What would I tell a friend who is feeling like I do right now? I then apply those ideas to caring for myself.

Do you have a therapist you can call? Mental health hot line? A supportive friend?
