I have had so many different T relationships...I'm most comfortable in the one I'm in now. I feel better not knowing a lot about his personal life because a former T spent a lot of time self-disclosing and therapy became more about her. I feel safe and accepted with T and I'm scared of losing that, but in a way I had to depersonalize him to be able to open up because of previous T. I don't know if this makes any sense. I like my T, I trust my T, and I value his insight/perspective...but I don't want it to be 2-sided. I pay him to help me and I feel safer not thinking about his life outside our sessions.
