Muscular Dystrophy isn't fun.

I have known and helped many, w/daily tasks, who suffered severe effects of the disease. I've also known people who had less serious effects of the disease. It isn't ever easy. Different accomodations need to be made, depending upon the person.
For instance, I knew a lady who was a cop out on the streets. MD hit her, and she couldn't be out in the streets anymore. She was still a cop, but one stuck behind a desk. She wasn't very happy at all about the changes, but thankful things weren't too bad. It took some time & adjustment.
My point is that there are jobs out there for the disabled. You just need to think about different things. What are you physically and emotionally able to do? Various home improvement stores are really big on hiring disabled people ~ like Home Depot. Lots of employees scoot around in their wheelchairs, and work just as well as anyone else. Check out your local workforce center for the different job opportunities in your area.
Gentle hugs to you ~ I hope that this post helps you feel a little bit better.
