Snowflake (what a beautiful SN!),

Is it possible that you feel towards your parents a sense of anger because you feel you don't deserve their niceness? Or could it possibly be out of a dislike of feeling like they pity you? I've been dealing with one form of mental illness or another for 10 years, and to this day I have a hard time telling my parents if things are getting worse for me - I don't want to feel pitied. It's gotten easier over the past 10 years, especially since mental illness + teenage years = bad!, but I think I understand where you're coming from.

Have you thought about why you feel you can't return your parents' kindness?
