I went through this and yes, your husband will feel like a failure for a long time. All I could do, for my husband at that time for him, was to find some positive in this situation. But it will not be easy if he doesn't want to see it. Maybe he will.

You are going to start a new beginning. It can be scary but it is just a new path, a new direction, a new way yo go forward in life. Yes a home is important but not as important as the "meaning" of you both to be together wherever that is.
