I'm taking Lithium, Lamictal, Propanolol and Temezepam. I had a pretty bad anxiety attack and so my pdoc added Abilify to the mix. It seemed to temporarily work well, but then I started having problems talking to people and memory issues. I was communicating these things to my team and started accepting I guess this was just the way I was going to be. I started dating somebody and told them about my illness and the drugs I was taking. He saw the side effects too and actually talked to a friend of his that was a pharmacist. The pharmacist told him that Abilify was a very strong drug and that I needed to stop taking it. I had to be my own advocate to push to get off the drug and when I did the cognitive clouding and memory loss went away. Low and behold I could actually have decent conversations with people again and didn't get freaked out like I was getting because I had nothing to say.

Can you change pdocs? I know I've had emergencies with my current pdoc and he will call me after hours and get me in right away if I'm in a crisis mode. When I had the last anxiety attack I was convinced I needed to go to the hospital and he talked me through it and got me on some new medication and I was fine after that. I'm concerned for you that your pdoc is making you wait so long. I sure know in my case if my pdoc hadn't been there for me last time I would have ended up in the hospital. Not to say you are at that point, but if you feel you are in a crisis then I feel your doctor should be there for you.

Good luck. Keep us posted.
