Actually, the ball is always in our court if you ask me. We can fire our therapist. Yes, they decide on the course of treatment, but we can decide whether to accept it or not.
I think we pay for a lot of things, but the compassion and desire to see us heal we get from our therapists is not among them.
I mean we pay for time - a guarenteed time for us - we pay for a place, we pay for training, and sometimes we pay for those who can't afford their services so they can get it for a reduced price. We pay for them to be
present with us.
So, I don't feel angry at the fact I pay my therapist. Sure, i would rather not, but it doesn't bother me to pay for things I value.
