That is so very sad, he must of been a good hearted person (no pun intended) to sacrifice his time and labor to help care for his mom, but sadly, neglected himself.
I can relate to that need he felt he had to care for his mom, so many of us caregivers, give so much to others while our health fails. Taking care of many of our aging parent's needs while we are middle aged, is a strain.
