Lithium took care of my thyroid function and also my kidneys. They were stable for some years. Not great but 2 years ago they started to get worse. I was at stage 4 and stage 5 is dialysis and looking for a transplant.
The only thing I could do is go on a kidney support diet. Taking the stress off the kidneys and help regulate what healthy kidneys do. My last tests showed no improvements but no decrease in function either.
I had pretty much accepted that my life would be shortened because of this.
But,,,today at my check up, the blood work shows that I am in stage 3 and my doctor said that I could stay there for quite a while.
I can't tell you how happy I am. The kidney support diet must be working for me. Knowing all this it gives me hope and encouragement to stay on it.
