I am hoping that I will be able to maintain this function for a while. My doc thinks yes..we will see what my specialist has to say this summer. I walked my results over to his office to make sure he has them.
Life is short enough without restricting dairy, protein, potatoes, tomatoes and bananas to mention a few. I had a prescription from my doctor that I met with my nutritionist to help me. This is to maintain health.
Unless your kidney function is compromised there is really no need. Lithium was my culprit but some pain medications and others can effect kidney function too. My doc was pretty adamant about Advil/Ibuprofen.
So if you are on Lithium be sure to have your thyroid and kidney function monitored. If starting it make sure you have tests to see if you might be at risk.
Kidney desease does not hurt and unless you have the right tests you may not know.
