Improving, I think the cards were a lovely gesture from your T. I am glad they are helping you get through this break. I hope you will continue to be brave and post your experiences in therapy, because I like hearing about them! When I was in couples therapy, my T made my H and me each a card. The cards each had several little tokens inside that symbolized various things. He explained each item as we opened up the cards. I thought it was very sweet and showed he really cared about us and the process we were using to come to closure about your relationship. Another time, he brought us a big bouquet of flowers he picked from his garden. These little gestures aren't required by the therapeutic relationship and aren't necessary to make it wonderful and supportive, but when they are made, it can be very sweet indeed and demonstrate caring and support to us. And make us feel very lucky indeed to have such Ts.
