sorry you are having trouble, seeker -- i am in a similar situation, except my neighbors with the bad manners and ever worse behaved children have banded together and consider me the b***h. They feel that because i dont want to interact with them there is something wrong with me, but i dont drink or smoke (and that is their favorite past time) dont want their kids running rough shod over my property (on bikes or minibikes), am tired of the doggie cesspool right beside my house that is beneath my kitchen window and have called the cops when their dogs have been barking non stop for over an hour after midnight or later (we have a noise ordinance that says dogs are not allowed to bark after 10 or before 7 am).

i dont understand how asking for common courtesy makes me such a bad person......and yes we have had several screaming fits -- it sucks, makes you feel icky, and makes our homes alien to us

but you have the right attitude -- avoid her, stop cowtowing to her, and heck if you can afford it plant a really tall fence so you dont have to see her! Fences make good neighbors (Ive been saving for the survey and fencing so i can fence my yard to keep my privacy - think i may happen this year finally!)
