i think that kind of situation would drive anyone crazy! can you get out of the house for chunks of the day? or all day.... i would want to go to a shelter too, and it seems easier if you don't have children. the stress could seem too much and i think i could understand...you need to be strong (as steel?) to not let it affect you. and anything healthy to keep your sanity would help, right? can you go for walks? there's always a way out, just stay focused on it. channel your negative/anger energy to get out.
