I'm highly sensitive, too. Sometimes it feels like a gift and sometimes it feels like a burden.
There's a great book out there by Elaine Aron called "The Highly Sensitive Person". It really helped me to understand and embrace this trait while also learning how important it is to take care of myself.
Oh, and I get extra sensitive during PMS. I hate that!
