Some doctors just don't believe in meds such as adderall. They see them as addictions. My doctor prescribes Dexedrine for me and I'm sure there are a lot of doctors who would want me to get off of it but it has made such a big difference in my life too. I'm not sure if your doctor is right or not about you getting off the adderall. I'd go to a different doctor if one tried to take me off of my dexedrine.
