I lost my voice for one day - just like you describe. I wasn't sick AT ALL !! Not even a sore throat! It was actually a day when I went to a place I had wanted to go my entire life. I got there and WHAM! not a sound!!! It wan't "in my head" as they say. I tried to YELL and nothing came out! At the end of an enjoyable day, in spite of the loss of speech, my voice suddenly returned full force.

I asked my college T about that and he said it can happen.
