I don't have much to offer you other than communication in this situation is key and you two have to discuss it further. He had to have got the text or he wouldn't have changed his FB picture and reply to your text later on saying that he was asleep. Obviously he wasn't asleep that long or he wouldn't have been up at 7 changing his FB stuff.

More than likely he is jealous that you didn't stay the night, and like you said is punishing you. Hope that it works out for you, but like I said, communication is key and you two have to work this out.
