I guess we all take comfort in knowing that others here know how we feel. Seems the common thread here is that what happened to Missy wasn't your fault, had you known what was to come, I'm certain you would have made other arrangements.... She'll be there for you wagging her tail as usual when you arrive someday
In the meantime, please look into whatever services might be available to you, maybe find a social worker that can help in your area? Usually AARP has some advise? Medicare? If you could get your hearing aids to work, you'd feel a lot more involved with people...it's hard to not feel alone if you can't hear anyone....that's very isolating. I wish the best for you.
