cats are amazing "jumpers" and can jump many feet if needs I once had a cat and lived in an upstairs appartment. the appartment was sold and the new owners made the proberty a no pets allowed so I gave my cat to a nearby friend who lived in a trailer park. EVERY time she let the cat out because she didn't do litterpans that cat would go up the nearest tree 10 - 15 feet away from the trailer, and jump from the tree onto the trailer roof. Her boyfriend ended up building a sort of cat stairs behind the trailer so that he could go up and down without all of us going up after him.
