Once she has a permanent place to stay, you should check out a Yahoo group - freecycle.com They are specific to a city like mine - mankatofreecycle.com. Their function is able to ask for items or offer items at no cost. I gave out a sewing machine and some home repair books. Others have gotten furniture, appliances and other household goods.
