I have struggled with similar thoughts and emotions. Therapy has helped me in many ways. A couple of very useful techniques for me have been: 1.) Focusing on the moment/s in dark times ~ very simple. Looking at a twig, for instance. Feeling the textures completely. Focusing all of my attention on the twig for a few minutes. It puts me into a more relaxed state of mind. You can do that w/anything! Sky, birds, trees, streams or ocean, etc. Personally, I always choose to focus on non-human subjects. That works much better for me, personally. 2.) Recognizing my self-hate, I know it exists, but that doesn't mean that I have to focus on it. There are parts of life that I can & do enjoy. I choose to focus more on the things in life that bring me some positive emotions.
Those two are my best discoveries to help me get through the very toughest times. Of course, I still see all of my doctors regularly as well. That is an automatic "must" imo. Very best wishes & gentle hugs to you ~ take care!
