wishing.girl, I have been in a similar boat, taking Ativan while waiting for a longer term med to take effect (Zoloft, in my case) and now that it finally is, I find I'm rarely turning to Ativan for relief. So yes, in my opinion, use the med responsibly until you get relief from your other med and you should be fine. Just don't use more than directed.
