Deb -- I can relate, a lot. When I'm afraid at night I tend to curl up, hold my hands close to my chest. It's comforting. I feel like a child when i do that, but it's my child within who is so afraid, so I need that. I have to remember to breath, and breath deep. I tend to hold my breath and that makes it worse. At times, I need to do something to ground myself, like sit up in bed or actually write in my journal until I can't stay awake any longer. Other times, a cup of warm milk can be enough to calm me down. I guess the point is that I must find some way to take care of myself and nurture myself. I've found it the best way to ease the fear.

It feels to me from what you have written that you feel alone in your fear. Please know that you are not alone. A lot of us can relate to you. I don't know your faith, but I will pray for you and your comfort. You deserve that.

Be well, deb.
