I think these thoughts of having special powers come from being someone who is more sensitive to the feelings of others than most people are. As children we tend to incorporate a picture of "other people" into our own minds -- or how we perceive these people to be. So we may feel we have a mission to save them, or the whole world, because no one else is doing it (and we "need" for them to be "saved"). But you cannot save the world totally inside your mind. You have to learn how the world really functions before you can do anything to improve it that works in reality. Wishing does not make it so.
