I've been on Abilify (20mg) for probably 7 or 8 years to augment the action of the various antidepressants I've been on during that time. (Depression is my only diagnosis...currently, I'm on Lexapro, 30mg.) It seems like the Abilify helps a little.... and once, a few years ago, when I tried to go off of it unsupervised and cold turkey (I know, bad idea!), my depression symptoms immediately came back rather dramatically. Unfortunately, I've gained quite a bit of weight over the last 7 or 8 years, which I suspect might be at least partly because of the Abilify. Because of this, I'm hoping to lower my dose, and will talk with my psychiatrist about this when I see her next week.

I'm wondering: have any of you had withdrawal symptoms when coming off of Abilify or lowering your dose? What might I expect with this, (if my psychiatrist agrees to it)?
