I found lexapro to lift the depression better than anything else I've tried, and I've tried just about all of them but MAOs. At higher doses (60mg) it did become sedating over time.

I'm not impressed with lamictal. It has made me more depressed by erasing all positive feelings. I understand that it's supposed to prevent mania, but I've never had mania or experienced hypomania. The lamictal has suppressed my ability to enjoy anything at all. This has led to deeper depression. I noticed the blunting of positive feelings right away. (I've been taking lamictal for a year now.) I had hoped that it would blunt the negative feelings, too, but it has not. (I'm going to try again to persuade my doctor to take me off of it.)

Just my experience. Jen
