Not off base at all, Anna. Psychiatric hospitals can be a haven, contrary to popular belief. I've said it several times before and I'll say it again; my experience at a behavioral health hospital was a very positive one, beginning with the "inmates."

Sparkle, some of us were there against our will and some of us, like me, were there voluntarily. The ones that were suicidal were the ones that were in actual "lock-down" or "intensive care" for their own protection, but then, they hold these people for no more than three days if they show improvement, unless the person decides they want to stay longer.
