Dear maze4200,
A panic attack is an extreme fear reaction, that is usually very sudden, and lasts from minutes to several hours. A panic attack usually involves a whole-body reaction-difficulty in breathing, shaking, feeling sick and very tense.
A panic attack can be helped by- slowing the breathing, purposeful relaxation, and distraction.
Anxiety- is fear, excessive worry and apprehension that lasts for weeks, months or years. It is a state which is constantly on the alert and looking out for danger.
Anxiety can be helped with slowing the breathing, daily relaxation, distractions, safe place visualisation, to name but a few ways to help yourself.
There is also medication that can help.
But if you are having a problem it is best to seek a therapist who will teach you ways of coping with this and get to the route cause of it.
I hope this helps.
