And totally agree with AAAA, know what you want, go in, get it, leave!

Oh, and you will not find me anywhere near a mall for most of the month of December. And if I had it my way, I wouldn't be in Target or Wal-Mart either. Really can't stand Christmas shopping and all the people.
What I do for the nieces and nephew (mostly to encourage reading) is to buy gift cards from Borders. I changed last Christmas and got grocery-store gift cards for one of the two nieces who live in Oregon. Gift cards are easy, if only because the reipients can pick what they like (and I never remember WHAT they like at any given time).

It also means I don't have to be in a mall during the holidays. It's gift cards or (for one friend in NJ) online.

I like thrift stores, and I buy some of my clothes at yard sales. Just this last weekend, I bought a blouse and a flannel shirt at a nearby church's yard sale.
