And if I can't get it, should I settle for Prozac or whatever generic pill my doctor throws at me?
If I end up on Prozac (which is likely, since many doctors like to prescribe it to almost anyone who shows up to their office with psychological problems), and if it doesn't help with my concentration, should I ask for an ADD evaluation?
It''s not like I want to end up on Ritalin because I want to get high (if that's what I wanted, aren't antidepressants more likely to accomplish that goal?)... I just want to concentrate so I can get done what I want and need to get done.

If you don't have ADHD but you have trouble concentrating, you sound like a very good candidate for behavioral therapy. Depending on where you live, you may even be able to find a therapist who specializes in ADHD, so I'm sure you would benefit as well. Some universities are studying this area very intensely right now, because many people do not want to be on ADHD medications. They do come with several risks. I'd look into it if I were you! Good luck!
