Hi ~ I TOTALLY understand your fears. I too had these fears about dentists, as I was "groped" by a dentist while under "gas" - and refused to even GO to the dentist for years. Finally, my daughter had to go with me to a new dentist, to help me get thru it.
Do what i did - explain to the dentist about your fears and why you have them. Explain that you've had dentists that were mean, and who hollered at you and held you down, etc. Explain that you WERE mistreated by these guys, and you're just plain scared. I promise you, he WILL treat you will more care than you've ever had. He will be gentle and caring. Dentists KNOW that there are ogres out there, and they don't ALL want to be like that.
