I have found, for myself, a few tricks to help alleviate the "after mania letdown to depression" bills / overdraft notices / speeding tickets.
SPEEDING TICKETS (because we all KNOW that everything ELSE slows down
when we're manic) i use CRUISE control in non-rush hour, non-city, and driving on highways after having nearly lost my driver's license after 2 tickets in a six months (AND now my insurance cost is slowly going back down too... BONUS!!!)
EXCESSIVE SPENDING due to the MOST INCREDBLY GENIOUS projects THAT i HAVE to BUY all this/these stuff/books FOR...i have started using my cell phone camera to take pictures (i.e "doing my research" i call it) of the object/objects i HAVE to buy for this earth shattering idea. It makes me feel like i'm actively DOING something with my energy and takes away some of the "i gotta buy it NOW" syndrome. Then i DON'T buy the object but i have a cool picture to take home and load onto my computer under a file entitled "EARTH SHATTERING IDEAS" for a time when i come down enough to analyze the feasibility of actually DOING said project. I have gotten a few
clerks that look of me kinda funny and ask "is there something i can help you with?" I tell them, i'm researching items for a collaborative/home project but nothing else (because i'm afraid they'll escort me out the door at times)
