Hi Joann, I'm new to this site as well. I agree with dragonfly. Just knowing you not alone in this really helps. I was diagnosed at 17. But was in total denial until I was 27 and went back in for another diagnosis. I'm now 32 and I think I've got the hang of it for the most part. I don't tell many people and I don't know anyone with this disorder either. My boyfriend like yours tries to understand and is very patient. But there are some things that people can't really understand unless they actually experience it themselves. I get alot of psychosis visual, audio, and tactile. He finds this very scary, and I used to feel a bit offended, like I'm a freak. But I guess had I not experienced it I'd find it a little scary too. A sometimes I do haha.
I've been lurking on this site for a while and the people seem great with a lot of good advice and support.
