I don't think it's stupid to tell your doctor this. Maybe the doc gives you the scrip, maybe they don't. Either way, I don't think you have much to lose. If the doc refuses, then you're no worse off now than you were before. If they agree, then you can stop getting the meds illegally. I'm not sure what the law says about all this, but I've never heard of a doctor turning any one in or anything like that.
