Welcome to PC......posting your thoughts here can be a good place to start but definitely for serious depression, the only help can come through professionals. Many times it's a chemical imbalance thing going on in the brain & meds can help....but coping skills & ability to handle yourself through depression is a wonderful help...DBT therapy can teach some skills that we all seem to be missing.
If you have a religion, it can sometimes help & sometimes not from my experience. My church didn't know how to deal with the horrible feelings I had while depressed so weren't the help I had hopped they would be....but other churches do support in a wonderful way....& God knows & understands beyond what any church does most times
