We all know about stereotypes. It can get ugly. That's why I want to counteract it with some light-heartedness.
What stereotypes do you fit? What stereotypes are expected of you, but you don't fit?
Here are mine.
Stereotypes I fit:
- I am a grandmother who knits, bakes cookies, and has cats.
- I am intelligent with a large vocabulary and weak social skills. (Bonus, I wear glasses, too.)
- I am female and unable to drive a car.
- I am female and definitely a chocolate addict.
Stereotypes that don't apply at all:
- I am a woman who does not enjoy watching The View, "chick flicks," or soap operas.
- My husband couldn't care less about sports.
- I am left-handed but have excellent penmanship, and I'm not all that clumsy.
- In fact, my right-handed husband is far clumsier.
- I am overweight but not into Big Macs or twinkies.
Meant to be funny. Please have at it; I hope you'll enjoy the game.
