Since you didn't post that you don't believe her or don't believe it is really that bad...I'm thinking your daughter is setting some good boundaries...leave her special day for her...in the near future support her in having a discussion with your son about how she feels about his behavior. As part of setting boundaries is communicating them to the person you feel is ignoring them.
