I will think about this and what/how to say things. People have so much to learn. You can't necessarily tell a homeless person by how they look. There are so many ways to go with this. There is the before someone knows about the situation, and after. Also what figures in is if the person knew you before it happened or met you later. And how the person reacts to finding out.
