I prefer animals over people too. I think that's why. Usually my obsessive thoughts have to do with things I don't want to think about. That are so horrible and not okay in my set of morals, that they just keep lapsing over and over again. Trying to stop them, only makes it worse. I hope I'm explaining this right. It's how obsessive thoughts sort of run. I know they can be difficult to understand if you don't have them. Or if you do, and don't understand them in yourself.

But anyway I went out to talk to my neighbor and she told me how much she knows I love my dog, and it helped to hear that, and that put a barrier between the thoughts and me. It helped to hear that I loved her and that I wouldn't hurt her.
