I see that a lot of posters here are in the US where healthcare is different so I was wondering if anybody lived in my town or in Canada and could give me some advice. I am not working and even if I could well I cannot.
I have 2 kids, teenagers, but the second one is "slow" and goes to a special school. Doctors have not been able to diagnose his condition and after age 5 , you are on your own really..There are no after school activities and he cannot be trusted to be at home on his home. I have no family nor help here.
And there is me...with lots of problems and not knowing where and to whom to turn to. So I was wondering if some people here know about the system in this town.
Thank you in advance !

Welcome to Canada

Where it IS too easy to be overwhelmed without support...

If you have a gp, i would book an appointment to talk and get a referal. Or you could go to an organization that deals with settlement and immigration alongside the United Way, YMCA etc - and talk to people who can truly understand where youre coming from. Or honestly, just check out CAMH - they are supposed to be availiable to many that are struggling. I am sorry that it seems like you are so alone with so much... Please PLEASE keep trying to reach out for help. You dont have to do all of this by yourself
