I think that moving back to LA, and expecting your ex to break up with his gf (for you) is an unhealthy expectation. You would only be setting yourself for disappointment.

A man willing to leave his gf, when another girl comes to town isn't real reliable. While you may initially think that he really does love you, it was meant to be, etc. Chances are real good that it's just a matter of time before that little part of your mind gets paranoid that your bf has similar relationships with other girls & your relationship with him ends.

I'd advise you to remain light friends with your ex once you move. Maybe something special will grow between you if his relationship with the gf does end. Maybe not. Don't depend on that happening though. Focus on building your personal strength before looking for another to share time and your sense of "self" with.
