I used to set-up computerized scheduling and registration for a large, public high school. There were regular classes and also classes for those students who didn't want to go to college but wanted to learn a job they might move into directly from high school. I was only allowed a specific limited number of letters to describe each subject being offered, which was no problem with subjects like English, Art, P. E., etc. The vocational classes were a different story!

One class was Hotel and Motel Management I and Hotel and Motel Management II. Truncated it came out something like Hot/Mot Man I and II!

I thought maybe you were having truncating issues!!
