Hey,

I don't know if there is one specific defination for what you are going through. I think your coping mechanism has started to go into a burn out stage because it was not really ever working to begin with.

Sometimes we think if we distract ourselves from something that it goes away but it doesn't usually, it just festers away inside, even unconsciously.

Usually the more we avoid something, hoping it will just go away, it actually just makes us feel worse because it niggles at the back of our mind.
Perhaps you need to try and write down all the issues that you have sat to one side and at least then it is there, on the paper and not so much in your head causing this current melt down for you. You can then take that list to therapy or begin looking at one issue at a time yourself- but it does sound like you would benefit from support.

I know studying can be taxing, usually the thought of it is worse than the actual task itself. Perhaps set yourself simple goals in studying such as, I will read or work through 10 pages in 1 hour and write down the important notes - for example, that way you have set yourself simple and doable pieces of the task at hand, which always seem a bit more manageable.
