Depression often pulls down this dark cloud where we cannot see anything but darkness. So we can't see which way we're going or even if it's up or down, left or right. We are left standing still. I think that the meds help sometimes but it isn't what pulls us out of it.
Therapy helps some, meds help some, but it's always up to us to trudge through that big dark cloud. It's no easy task, either.
I do a lot of things to myself that are often bad for me, although they feel very good, so yes you are making sense.
When that black cloud is near us it is so hard to find the joy and happiness that life sometimes has to offer. I have been fortunate enough to go without the black cloud from time to time.
